LOS MOCHIS, SINALOA

A shootout between police and bad guys left one gunman dean and another injured this past week.

MEXICO CITY, DISTRITO FEDERAL*

Municipal police here were attacked by gunmen in the town of San Mateo Otzacatipan by gunmen in two vehicles. One officer was killed and one was wounded. Investigators found about 50 shell casings from AK 47 assault rifles.

ZACATECAS, ZACATECAS

A clash between state police and gunmen late Thursday left four bad guys dead. The operation was assisted by a state police helicopter. Seized were weapons , cartridges, tactical gear and Radio communications.

MATAMOROS, TAMAULIPAS

Federal police here have seized 279 kilos (nearly 614 lbs.) of marijuana hidden inside a house. Two radios were also seized.

CHILPANCINGO, GUERRERO

Four members of CIDA (Independent cartel of Acapulco) were arrested by federal agents. Civilians fought with the agents in an attempt to free those arrested. Those arrested are said to be involved in kidnapping and murder, raping and then dismembering the victims.

VISTA HERMOSA, MICHOACÁN****

About 50 gunmen in eight vehicles came into this town on Saturday night about 9 pm. They opened fire on a gas station, city hall and the police station. The municipal police chief was assassinated, and 3 state police that responded to radio calls for assistance were also gunned down and killed. An innocent truck driver passing through was also shot and killed. Finally, the gunmen set fire to a patrol unit and a truck. Shortly after, the Mexican Army arrived.

BRISEÑAS, MICHOACAN**

Police responding to assist the Mexican army in a shootout with gunmen found a road blocked by a truck. On stopping, they were ambushed, resulting in 2 police officers killed, 4 wounded, and 1 bad guy dead. The truck driver was also found dead later.
