CARTEL ACTIVITY IN MEXICO…

COMALCALCO, TABASCO

Seven members of the Zetas were arrested when authorities responded to a report of armed people. On stopping a vehicle, the driver was found to be Eusebio Córdova Góngora, coordinator of spies for the Zetas for the state. The other front seat passenger was Pedro Hernandez Hernandez and / or Mario Lopez Arellano, Zeta chief for the state. He admitted his involvement in extortion, kidnappings and executions in the state, and he also controlled the illegal marketing of fuel that was sent to Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz, through the company Goico Petroleum Solutions Inc. Others also admitted to killings and other crimes, and a number of firearms and ammo were seized.

TORREON, COAHUILA

Eight people were executed in various incidents this past Thursday. In total, 22 were killed in six states due to shootouts with authorities, executions and beheadings.

AHUMADA, CHIHUAHUA

Federal police engaged in a 15 minute shootout with 8 bad guys protecting a load of marijuana. The load was finally abandoned, and police found 1398 packages of marijuana, which weighed 700 kilograms or 1540 pounds.

SANTA CATARINA, NUEVO LEÓN

The Mexican Army has captured Jose Ricardo Barajas Lopez, one of the prisoners that escaped on Feb. 19th from the prison in Apodaca, NL. He was a participant in the killing of 49 people found on May 13, 2012 in Cadareyta, NL. He said he was told they were Gulf cartel, rivals of the Zetas.

SAN NICOLAS, NUEVO LEÓN

State investigators have arrested another escapee from the Feb. 19 break. He is identified as Juan Francisco Arguello Pastrana, alias ‘El Chongo’ or `Chamaga`. He confessed to being involved in the murder of Detective Arturo Montiel.

SANTA MARíA DEL ORO, JALISCO

An ambush attack on rural police officers near here, which border Michoacan and Nayarit, killed 3 bad guys and left 6 good guys wounded. Unofficial reports are that there were close to 100 gunmen from the Knights Templar cartel.
